Class Description
Settle into the quiet beauty of late fall with a day of watercolor inspired by Sonoma County in November—natural forms gathered from the season—pomegranates, mushrooms, lichen, branches, flowers going to seed, and turning leaves all brought into the classroom for observation and inspiration. The focus is on the contrast of rich, saturated color and varied texture—fiery maples, golds, and russets alongside weathered bark, and softer, fading tones. Learn and practice basic watercolor techniques including wet-on-wet painting, controlled washes, layering, color mixing, and creating texture, while building strong compositions using color, light, and form. Guided discussions explore the essential elements of visual art to help you create expressive, individual work. All materials provided. Space limited to 8 students. Discussion break at 12:30 p.m. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Date/Time: Nov. 21, 2026, 10am - 4pm Ages: Adult (18+) All skill levels welcome New and returning students welcome Taught by: Lynn Zachreson Questions? Contact the instructor: lynnz@cruzio.com
